
- 1) What Is SEP? SEP is the Special Enrollment Period for health insurance that allows you to enroll outside of the Open Enrollment Period.
- 2) How Do You Qualify for SEP? Certain life events allow you to qualify for the Special Enrollment Period. These events include losing health coverage, moving, getting married, having a baby, or adopting a child.
- 3) How Long Do I Have to Qualify? You may have the option to enroll 60 days before or 60 days after the life event, depending on what life event applies to you. Job-based plans must provide a Special Enrollment Period of at least 30 days.
